Intercape, the largest intercity bus service in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), has implemented the Sage X3 business management solution, with assistance from Parity Software.
The company decided in 2014 to seek a new business management solution because its systems did not support multi-currencies and were not properly integrated.
This meant its financial team spent a lot of time consolidating financial information from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique.
A lack of integration between creditors, ticketing, purchasing and accounting systems also meant data needed to be recaptured. This introduced human error and heightened the risk of fraud.

The coach operator needed a solution that handled multiple currencies and which allowed it to capture and report financials from all seven SADC countries.
Sage X3 does this and integrates with its ticketing, agent bookings, creditors and invoicing systems.
Intercape went live with Sage X3 for its general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and Cashbook in late 2014, thereby streamlining its financial reporting and consolidation processes.
